There are a number of people encountering the dreaded I/O Error 32 when they
try to open some ebooks. All they get is a little popup box saying "I/O
Error 32" and if they press OK the ebook opens but with no content.
Fortunately, there is an easy solution:
There is a folder on your hard drive which stores temporary files, and all
you need to do is delete some specific folders from that.
Now, due to the various versions of Windows that are now available, the actual
location of that folder varies, but on Windows 2000 it is normally at:
C:/Documents and Settings/<your username>/Local Settings/Temp
(Where you see <your username> above, you might have "default
user")
In that folder, you'll find one or more subfolders whose name begins CA...
followed by 18 alpha-numeric characters.
Simply delete all these folders. They are not needed, as they are simply
folders where the ebook stores data when it is opened, and it gets confused
when it finds files already there. Sloppy programming if you ask me, but
there you go!
Note: The /Local Setting/ Temp file is normally a "hidden" file so make sure you have "view hidden files" enabled.
To enable, go to toolbar at top of page. Click "Tools" then "Folder Options" then "View" then enable the button "Show hidden files"
